ダンボの旅: Planting tree's on a Volcano... My trip to Fuji San

Murika!!!!!... wait where am I again.... Today I saw more Harleys on the road than I thought would even be in Japan. But like many other things I've come to find out, for some reason the Japanese seem to love American things. Who would of thought I'd go all the way across the dateline and still be surrounded by the things I was used to haha. Gotta say these guys had the right idea. Nothing like being free and cruising the highways on a bike on a beautiful day. Man do I miss riding... And now even driving a Geo would probably be more fun than being stuck inside a Bus for the 3 hour ride to Mt. Fuji.

This guy was all decked out for a nice haul. A few other of the riders in front of him had lights all over their bikes, made for a cool ride through the many tunnels here with the light shows passing us by in the left lane. Definitely was jealous, can't wait to get back to my Yamaha's and get them out on the road (^o^)

After one of the most skilled, narrow, winding, single lane'd passing bus ride I've been on we made it to the mid-way parking lot where we met up with the rest of today's volunteers.

While eating our lunches the ever shy Fuji San peaked in and out of the clouds, though never fully. Seemed like the clouds were constantly changing direction just about when it was almost cleared.

Walk up to get the small saplings that we'd be planting to to help with erosion and to beautify the Mt Fuji. This little girl and her sister were too cute. Skipping around in their pink boots the whole way up haha. Kidd's really do know how to have fun.

Finally a clear shot (^o^). After a short walk further up we set out to plant our 300 or so trees. With the adults digging holes the kidds had the fun job of dropping the trees in and dancing around them afterwards to tamp down the soil. Followed lastly by a liberal sprinkling of mulch to help retain water to make sure our little guys survived and took root.
