ダンボの旅: Nostolgaic II Days & The Toyota Industrial Museum...
Weekend started with a nice train ride back out to the Port of Nagoya Saturday morning to check out Nostalgic II Days, a vintage car show/swap meet. Getting off the train though I couldn't help but feel a little out of place with all the lolita's and.... old women? (Not that lolita's and old women can't be into cars...) I was going to a Car show right... Thankfully upon getting to the center I'm was pleasantly surprised to find out there was a Crafting and then Lolita event going on in two of the other halls at the center.Walking in I was greeted with the above view. Pristine J-tin, everywhere.
We never get the cool car's in the US
There was also a nice setup of absolutely beautiful BMW's
Although as with most things, I like people and things with a story... And I can only imagine the stories this thing could tell...
One last photo for now, the coveted S20 Nissan engine... Walking up couldn't help but notice the sweet rich smell of gas from the carbs, part of the joy of older cars.
After grabbing lunch and then the train back into the city met up with some of the guys from my plant that were in country for a new line inspection. Took em out shopping and then we were off to check out the Toyota Industrial Museum. Unfortunately it closes at 5pm? Thankfully though we decided to go and walk all the way to the entrance just to check the place out. Lucky for us it was a special weekend so they have 5 cars outside so it wasn't a complete loss... And then they started them up and paraded around :)
Having gotten to watch a small parade of classic Toyota's we headed out to find a good dinner, aka buffet. And we found just the spot, a roof top Beer Garden with a 2hr all you can eat all you can drink setup for 35 dollars. Cheap meal, great food, fantastic friends and a view like this... Couldn't think of a better way to finish off the weekend.
Few more photo's from the weekend
