ダンボの旅: So we really are all humans here....

So after whats seemed like the endless eight of learning our simple block formation and morning ritual. The third week of drills came to an end. With our movements now robotic and insync between the 145 of us. And most of us wiped out, The foreigners having run through a Japanese language book that normally is taught in a semester in a mere 2 weeks, the Japanese were going through all the "fun" new hire training and lectures, and then there was a week of Health Check, Physical Strength/Endurance testing and Memorizing and screaming a code of conduct/call of thanks with your group at the top of your lungs. It's been quite the month.

With everyone now feeling that unity that can only be brought about through struggling and fighting alongside one another, the real people behind the normally emotionless masks started to peek through once again, and laughter once again began to flow. Today even more so, being it was the last day before the amazing thing that is Golden Week, one week of nothing but relaxation. So needless to say today everyone was full of that slap happy, giddy, excitement that you feel the night before going to Disney or Graduation. So knowing that break was only 7 hours away even Safety training couldn't bring down our high. And then they stepped up the game, and gave 145 slap happy "Kidd's" slap bracelets. So you can imagine where that went. After what seemed like 30 mins of figuring out all the different ways to hit each other with said slap braclet safety training started. And a few hours later there we were, seated in the main hall eagerly awaiting our pep speech before being released. Everyone was asking about one another's plans: where, what, when.... and please bring me back a "Omiyage". A short speech later, and we were free!
