Yeah... I'm surrounded by hicks down here. Apparently three of my friends were raised on farms. It's okay, until they start playing country music. Last night, even Doug was rocking out to the terrible, terrible, country twang. Bleugh.
I'm liking the last picture - the silhouette of the corn/grain/thingy. Probably corn. Seems like the end of a long day's work.
They were really really close to sunset, why do you ask?, like 15-30min's before it was too dark to shoot handheld. Actually grant had to quit since all he had was a f5.6. Yeah it was dark, just checked the exif, 1/40 f3.8 @ 1250.

i can tell by the lighting that it was close to sunset. that's all.
Yeah, that is the best time to shoot, nice low soft warm light. That and sunrise, The golden hours for photography
