Where My people at?

That was the common feeling last Saturday after a low turn out to the Black Expo at the Eagles Club on the East Side. Planned and orchestrated by Aurora Resident Jock and Zechariah. The black expo was an attempt to get the comunity together and to embrace the heritage of the Black comunity during African American History Month. There were vendors from local business to show off their work and services. And a live stage featuring the poetic storyteller Oba-William King, Severe of Chicago, Aurora's own Zechariah McGhee and more. While there wasn't quite the turn out expected assistant planner Zechariah still saw the event as a success, stating we got our name out there, and now people can see we are for real. All those attending had a good time time though, listening to the talent and catching up with old friends while making new ones.

I'm liking the last two pictures here. I can totally imagine him singing "Stand by me"; excellent timing/shot. And, because I'm a complete butt, the horizontal looks slightly tilted.

Same with Jock, very nice action picture. What she's doing is a little bit less clear, but it looks undeniably cool. Um, what is that on her nose though?
